Used car batteries contain lead acids which, if not treated properly, could be an important source of contamination.

What do I achieve by recycling bar batteries?

• Savings in raw materials. Plastic lead are recovered.
• Energy savings.
• I protect nature because if certain battery components come into contact with the soil water these could be very dangerous.

How are batteries recycled?

From the Garbigune they are taken to the recycling plant where they are crushed. Then their components are separated:

• The acids are neutralised as they cannot be reused.
• The plastics are crushed reutilized.
• The anode cathode are taken to foundries to recover their lead content.
• New batteries are made sold.

Batteries are collected by Tudor, which is responsible for extracting reusing the lead contained in them.
